Smart Choices now offers option of single-use or reusable RH Smart Sensors

Rogue River, OR (January 2015) – As part of 2015 World of Concrete (WOC), Wagner Meters’ concrete flooring division will be on hand to introduce Smart Choices and the new Rapid RH® 5.0 Smart Sensor, a reusable relative humidity sensor with a new approach to calibration checks.

Wagner Rapid RH® Sensor ChoicesFans of the Rapid RH® Smart Sensor will now be able to choose between the permanently installed 4.0 EX and the removable, reusable 5.0. The concept is called Smart Choices and lets customers choose which model is the fastest, the easiest, and the lowest cost per test for their particular application. The Smart Sensor 4.0 EX remains the standard for fast, easy, and low-cost concrete condition testing. The new reusable Smart Sensor 5.0 eliminates the problems inherent in conventional reusable sensor design, making it the Smart Choice for certain applications.

Every Rapid RH® 5.0 Smart Sensor features its own EasyCare CalCheck, a patent-pending consistent RH generator that functions as a protective base and eliminates the need for bulky and expensive calibration check chambers. This unique feature stores the sensor in an optimal environment, where it is always equilibrated, and always ready for an instant calibration check. Visitors to the Wagner Meters exhibit can participate in hands-on demonstrations to see how the EasyCare CalCheck works.

Wagner Meters’ new Bluetooth® Smart Reader and CalMaster mobile app will also be available for visitors to examine. Designed especially for the Rapid RH® 5.0 Smart Sensor, the Bluetooth® Smart Reader transmits sensor data to CalMaster, which tracks calibration compliance data for each sensor.

“We didn’t want to create ‘just another reusable sensor’,” says Ed Wagner, President of Wagner Meters. “Instead, we wanted to create a solution to the issues we’ve seen in conventional reusable sensors. Our Engineering Manager’s prototype exceeded my expectations; I’m totally amazed at how it turned out. The EasyCare CalCheck feature is going to change the way people look at reusable sensors.”
