Aliquippa, PA (March, 2006) - Ardex Engineered Cements, long recognized as setting the standards by which all flooring preparation materials are judged, proudly announces that it has teamed up with Wagner Electronics, the world leader in moisture measurement technology, to continue their attack on flooring industry’s most common and costly failure: excessive moisture vapor emissions in new and existing concrete slabs.
With the introduction of the ARDEX MC Moisture Control System in 2004 in the Americas, Ardex Engineered Cements revolutionized the ability to control moisture vapor emissions. Approved for remediation on concrete floors that have up to 95% RH by ASTM F2170, or an emission rate of 20 lbs./1000 sq. ft. /24 hrs. by the ASTM F1869 calcium chloride test method, ARDEX MC’s two-part epoxy system reduces moisture emissions to less than 3 lbs. overnight - easily meeting the requirements of finished flooring and coatings manufacturers, and keeping your flooring installations on schedule.
Determining whether moisture remediation is necessary, however, has been a problem in and of itself. Some tests determine that moisture is present, but not how much, while the most common method measures only surface moisture levels without disclosing problems that lurk below throughout the entire thickness of the slab. The ones that do are costly and time consuming, with wait times as long as three days.
Enter Wagner Electronics’ Rapid RH™, an evolution in moisture-sensing technology, and the winner of the Attendees' Choice Award for the Most Innovative Product at this year's World of Concrete. Rapid RH™ is an all-in-one probe that combines a moisture sensor, power supply and display into a single, low-cost device that is inserted directly into the concrete floor slab. Each probe has a liquid crystal display to give you accurate relative humidity and temperature readings at the touch of a button. In addition, the Rapid RH™ probes are disposable and lie flush with the surface of the concrete, both avoiding damage and eliminating the need to remove them.
The two industry leaders will incorporate their product solutions in their technical training, architectural specification programs and web-site information (www.ardex.com and www.rapidrh.com).
“Like the ARDEX Moisture Control System, the Rapid RH™ moisture test is an accurate and reliable method for insuring success with your moisture remediation solution”, says Ed Wagner, President, Wagner Electronics.
Joe Peilert, Exec. VP and General Manager of Ardex Engineered Cements comments, “Our joint educational efforts and job-site support, along with the use of Wagner and Ardex products, turn an installation risk into a profitable business opportunity.”
Teamed up, Ardex Engineered Cements and Wagner Electronics give you the tools you need to both find the problem and to solve it. After all, your success is our success, and we work hard to achieve it.
