Hole Depth

I know the requirement is 40% of slab thickness.
We are getting some very high RH readings (20% higher than the tramex readings) using these probes.
Would RH readings increase as the volume of the space beneath the reader increases?
I am not sure if the technician seated the probes properly (all the way on the bottom of the hole) and if he didn't, can i just push them all the way down and receive accurate readings?

The reason for the difference in the readings can be the fact that the probe is not calibrated or it was not left in the hole long enough to equilibrate. some of the probes can take over an hour to equilibrate.
the other factor is the amouynt of dead air space beneath the sensor or sleeve. Some of the sleeves have a lot of dead air space in them
