Moisture is one thing, expansion/contraction/cracks etc... is an entirely other issue that has often been the 'whipping' boy of moisture. Well these were really ...lets say fractures? No? Ever see a slab with spider webed fractures or cracks? I skim coated the slab with Ardex SF. And I always patch larger cracks even when using MVP4 which they claim can bridge 1/8 inch cracks. But I've seen lots of MVP4 go down those cracks. About those concrete contractors.....I doubt many have the technical back ground to know what all is in the mixture many recieve, so many admixtures these days. Thats another topic maybe Bob can address. I have asked plenty of concrete contractors if they know what MVER's are, not one even knew the term so far.
