The silicate advocates can't test with 1869 because that test shows the floor still emits high levels of vapor. They are trying to come up with a test they can use that shows the concrete is suitable for flooring, but the tests they have proposed are flawed for many different reasons.

my opinion:
Calcium carbide testing is only as good as the opperator. For example if the "concrete" that is removed and pulverized for testing is really a piece of Rock that has little or no water in it the test will show very low. Calcium carbide works well for "self drying" screeds and self leveling cements that can not be accurately tested by other methods

It is in Northern California by SFO Airport.

I hope you can give us a brief update after you attend. Howard is great to listen to, and his new silicate findings are hopefully going to help me out. I haven't seen his latest report on silicate admixes and topicals but I hear it is due out soon or was just released.

I wonder if all the silicate people from Linkedin are going to be at the seminar..

I am equally curious as to the findings. Certain silica based treatments are starting to take off down here. Not quite sure how to deal with them.
