Thanks for all the input! I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner but I wasn't alerted to the postings through email as I had expected to be.
The manufacturer of the laminate is Dream Home. I will do a plastic sheet test in the unfinished basement where there is no carpet and see what happens. So far it looks like the moisture is coming through the cedar block-like walls, not the floor. And those walls are not in the finished part of the basement where I want to place the laminate. But everyone gave me a lot to think about. The finished part of the basement is hooked into central HVAC system and is generally cool. Does that make a difference? Thanks again! |
