This job made me pause and think...
I measured a job today to give a mitigation proposal. The job is at a home for old folks with Alzheimer's. My grandma had Alzheimer's and I had to care for her when I was in my early teens. It is a devastating disease that I pray none of us ever get.
Seeing these old folks wandering around, sometimes shouting out for no reason or doing weird things sure took me back to my early days. My grandma was an amazing woman throughout her entire life until the disease destroyed her mind. It is very sad to watch proud respected loved ones degrade in such a way. If I get the job I'll try my very best to be respectful of these wonderful people and try to brighten their day if I can. Count your blessings every day....

RE: This job made me pause and think...
For sure.
We did a number of dimentia homes in the SF Bay Area and learned something interesting. You can't put too much of a busy pattern in the floor. Or they get sucked into it like a trance and get all dizzy and worse. I have no scientific backup for it but part of the 'service' of a good rep firm. |

My former company's designers specified carpets a couple of times that gave residents 'headaches' and made people nauseous.

Did you report it???
![]() Usually these spammers have pictures... And I can't figure out how to get pictures on here. ![]() See, the problem I have with Carol is she didn't capitalize God. Thank God is capitalized. I always think something VERY bad will happen if I don't capitalize God. Maybe that's what happened to the Roman Empire, you know, dominate the world for thousands of years and become world leaders, then they get lax and stop rounding off the bottom corners of 'U's so they look like 'V's, and then stop going through all the extra chiseling it takes to make a capital G when they chisel God on something, and pretty soon, SMACK! the empire collapses. I'm not taking any chances, and Carol shouldn't tempt fate either...

I think the Romans didn't capitalize God because they had so many, they had to turn it into a generic term otherwise they would have gotten confused. There's a lesson in that somewhere... Right on the Alzheimer's thing too. Regardless of their mental state, all our seniors should be honoured in some way. We lock 'em up in homes and forget about them... DId you get the job? RE: This job made me pause and think...
I need to conduct my own testing first. The previous test results are missing.
