I can see the display at world of concrete right now. A bunch of coolers dispensing beer and a few used in parallel to cool sufficient amounts of flow / gallons per minute of water out in the parking lot.

The problem with tensile testing underlayments is the epoxy adhesive used to bond the coupon to the underlayment will fortify the underlayment as it absorbs into it.

I don't like 'go to feather-edge' type comments. It is a badly defined word between DIV 3 & DIV 9.

ACI definition of feather edge: edge, feather — a wood or metal tool having a beveled edge and used to straighten re entrant angles in finish plaster coat; also the edge of a concrete or mortar patch or topping that is beveled at an acute angle.

Angles smaller than a right angle (less than 90°) are called acute angles

So you could have a product that goes to a 'feather edge' but the 'edge' could be a 89° angle.

I've got a ton of rapid set 'skim coat' in my warehouse that was supposed to go to a 'feather edge' but, goes to an ACI 'feather edge' not a floor covering 'feather edge'

I never seen an SLC thats got small enough grit in it to feather-edge for anything cept ceramic tile or stone. I always seem to have to finish it off using Ardex SF. Maybe it's just me from doing vinyl products allot back in the day.

See, you are using a floorcovering feather edge definition not an aci definition.

I've tried to feather the SLU for my flooring guys but I always hit it wet, and that doesn't work... Maybe if I hit it as it is setting up, but then I'd need to have one extra guy to do that, and he could only do it where he can access the slab without walking on the poured areas or he'd ruin the main body.
So I just say it doesn't 'feather edge' and leave it at that.
