Can tape over the probe cause erroneous readings?

#21
LawyersDodgy. Since ASTM 2170 endorses sealing, I'm not so sure a lawyer would go down that path. A pure silicone I suspect would be preferable, or even a urethane. I've been using the Loctite for well over a year now and noticed no effect on my readings + or -. Plus, you just about have to use a utility knife or screwdriver to break the bond loose once it dries.

The sensor is reading the rh from underneath it, not from up top. The underneath part is sealed from the top is it not? If so then what ever you cap it with would not matter temp and ambient rh wise as long as debris and water does not enter it.

How about an old wax seal like the brits used to use?
