is it possible to replace just two squares of a patio? - lean - 10-11-2012 11:49 AM

Hello. I just have a concrete patio done. It is cut into rectangles. Two of the rectangles got curvy and rain water stays in them. Can one replace just these two blocks? Is it difficult? Thank you

Hello and welcome!

Yes you can cut the cupped pieces out and replace them, or you can apply a topical concrete dressing which will fill the low areas, or you could grind them down to be flat (but that will expose aggregate and look kind of weird unless you grind the entire thing.....)

The easiest and fastest would be to apply a concrete repair dressing like Ardex CD. This patch will stand up to vehicle traffic, is easy to mix and place and very fast drying.

You recommended a product. I recommended a product.

I don't sell the product. What you are doing is advertising and it is not allowed here. Sorry.

I think CC Solutions should be granted Admin privileges. That is the sort of post that should meet a banhammer.

That's very ethical of you JD- I know how badly you want to spruke the CC Solutions Concri-Hyper-Mega-Boost 2000*, and the free Packers Cheesy-Head Hat with each purchase.** Big Grin

Grinding is only economical over large areas too. Not many contractors would pull out a grinder for only a couple of square yards or whatnot.

Why would those bits have curled and not others. Are we talking about one pour, cut all the way through, or just feature cuts to the surface?

*fictional product. Don't write in.
**You don't really get a free Green Bay hat. Because it's a fictional product.

Poor wording on my part- I know the cheesy hats exist, I see them every time I watch NFL replays. Funny how I never have a craving for dry biscuits until I watch a Packers game...

Once again I've driven this post into a ditch Big Grin
