We just put down 9,000 sf of Ardex K15 last week. The pour went fantastic and we're thinking of switching to K15 for all our work. It costs a bit more than some of the other levelers, but the quality and consistency is second to none. We also find that with their bigger bags we get substantially more coverage, which makes the cost much more in line with the cheaper products.
In the end though, our main concern is quality and having a great company behind us. Who does that better than Ardex?

I can attest to everything you mentioned. It's flat out the best self-leveler made. Job after job you get consistent results and performance. For jobs you might normally skim with Ardex Feather Finish, try Ardex K-55 @ 1/8" thick. That's what's is made to do. Saves tons on labor and the substrate will be everything the flooring installer wants - flat and incredibly smooth. As a former Ardex employee, I can't tell you the number of times installers challenged me with claims of a product "just as good as Ardex, but cheaper." Ya get what ya pay for.

I have used K55 three times now and I haven't had the best of luck with it. I put my underlayment down at 3/16" and the K55 has always been thick and slow to heal. The next time I use it I'm going to add a touch of water. I always measure water very carefully and fudge just a bit to the dry side, but K55 is extremely water sensitive so I was told adding even a few ounces (which I will withhold normally) will make it flow much better.
K55 is the most expensive underlayment I have ever poured (well short of some that cost me half the price per bag and then a $300,000 claim when the leveler was recalled), so really the K55 is a steal when you think of it that way.

All good so far, apart from some feral customers behaving badly. Must be a full moon or something. I've always said we would operate a lot more efficiently if we didn't have customers.
How's your 2012 thus far?
Yes, sadly the forums have been a bit quiet. Let's be honest, concrete moisture is not exactly the most rivetting topic for mere mortals. I was trying to explain it to wifey and she was asleep within 60 seconds.
The Linkedin forums are providing some entertainment at least.

LOL, I know what you mean Pat!
I have been doing this for about 18 years, and I still hear my wife describe what I do as 'concrete work', 'floor repair', or any number of other things.. Yet when I try to explain her eyes drift off....
