ASTM 2170-11 - eaadams - 09-30-2011 04:00 PM

Is RapidRH 4.0 compatible with ASTM 2170-11? Did the 2011 update have anything we should know / be on the lookout about?

Did you buy the ASTM yet? I didn't. Blush

Wait. Maybe I did! Huh

My memory is so bad.... I think I did buy it, now where did I put it? Question

I bought the old one. Just not hugely interested in 2011 unleashed there is something in it I can spec to a/d people.

You know a guy could go broke buying ASTM's ...

Maybe Jason could post them here for 'review'.Tongue

@EA-2170-11 changes in a nutshell (and its better to read yourself in case I miss something):

1) Dictates specifically how far, from the bottom of the hole, the sensor can "live". .625 +- .125
2) Dictates that sensor sleeves must line hole completely from top to bottom.
3) Sleeve must have ribs/fins at bottom of sleeve and at the .625 of the sleeve. This is to isolate the sleeve from the concrete. Must also have an isolation gasket inside the sleeve at the .625 from bottom depth to isolate the sensor from the sleeve. Bottomline, they are trying to do what they can to isolate that very small space of air at .625" from bottom of hole. SOUND FAMILIAR?
4) Sensor must only obtain readings from the bottom of the sleeve. No knockouts and reading from the side.

You should get the standard, there are pictures that do better at explaining.

@JD-"post the ASTM for review"-NICE!! If I had your money I would burn mine. Big Grin An ATV with power steering--Must be nice!

Jason

Thanks for the update Jason!

Yeah power steering... Who would have seen that coming?

Okay, are you changing the probes again to have full height sleeves? Or will a tube in a tube work to meet the requirement?

Ea, I believe the wagner sensors don't need a sleeve to the top because they only read that teensy weensy airspace at the bottom of the hole. Is that what your talking about?

Jason said the sleeve must be the entire depth of the hole. He did not say if the sleeve can be two piece.

Don't disturb him now, it's nappy time... Big Grin

Would they sell it if it weren't?
