It kinda reminded me of SLC hmmmmmm I wonder if I could make my own SLC with that additive?
I read the W/C ratio can run anywhere between .35 and .70. If you use that additive in a bag of readymix or say modified thinset would you use less than .35?

Where did you find that video? The guy tries to act all scientific "A gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds and here we have a pint weighing .9920 pounds when it should weigh 1.0425 pounds..."
Whatever... When you start measuring water for your 1500 yard pours using a plastic paint pail from Home Depot let me know....
And Mr. Scientific didn't give us his altitude or the specific gravity of his water either. Water at 10,000 feet weighs differently than water at sea level. Salt water weighs more than distilled water. What is his water?
And who's to say that his Fisher Price scale is accurate? That thing could be FUBAR.
I guess the idea is if you want to make concrete samples of 12 pound batches, weight them out to the 10,000ths of a pound for the best results.

Now don't be Debbie Downer JD. The reasoning behind that me thinks is not so much for slump as it is for color consistancy. As in colored concrete slabs.

A super plasticizer is a high end water reducing agent. What they do is change the electrical charge of the water molicule so that the repell each other rather than attract each other. In essence it thins out the water like placing alcohol in water.

The moisture testing on SSC concrete is the same as normal concrete. SSC concrete because of the low w/c ratio will dry faster. Once it is placed I don't know how you would tell the difference from normal weight concrete.

You can probably tell by the lack of plasticizers and the fewer moisture related voids left behind. I mean not by looking at it, but a lab could tell you what you have.
