Trip to Australia
I am going to hijack the Forum or at least this thread to do a "mini-blog" over the next couple of weeks. I am preparing to leave for a trip to Australia to meet with many different segments of the flooring industry i.e. manufaturers, teaching insitutions, standards committee's, end users, and potential distributors. The feedback regarding my trip has been great and I look forward to some productive disussions. I look forward to sharing my discoveries of this industry from somewhere outside of the US.

RE: Trip to Australia
I have arrived "down under". I have to say that a 14 hour plane trip is not my idea of fun. Everything has gone smooth so far, just making my final preparations for a long two weeks. I will be visiting Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth. I will keep posting how the trip is going.

RE: Trip to Australia
Glad you arrived safely. I'd like to visit my cousin, but the idea of hours in a plane with my disdain for being enclosed for so long almost terrifies me

Its going to take me about that long to get from Tucson to VA for the Guilds engineered hardwood seminar this month. You must be flying in a faster airplane than I will be.

14 hours? Must have had a tail wind Smile It'll be faster going back, don't worry.

Glad you're adjusting to upside-down land and look forward to catching up. This afternoon, actually...!

RE: Trip to Australia
It has been a VERY busy week. Started off in Sydney meeting with a VERY large multinational GC and various manufacturer's. It is very interesting to see how common the issues are whether in Australia or the US. The conversations I am having this week are conversations I have had previously, in the US, during the early introduction of F2170. The discussions about manufacturer's needing to have thresholds and give guidance. The discussions that "we never have conditions necessary". It truly is like dejavu. We have also traveled to Brisbane, meeting with contractors, teaching institutions(like our union training), and have held evening sessions with various contractors. Currently, I am in Sydney until Sunday when I will travel to Perth for a couple of days of the same. I also got to meet our forum participant Patrick. Always nice to put a name with a face. For all of you wondering, yes I have had the opportunity to see a kangaroo.Big Grin
