Tandus removes moisture testing requirement
Interesting: http://www.fcimag.com/articles/89957-tan...equirement

The whole pH of 9 is the big question here. seems like you will just get a lot of flooring contractors bidding without testing, then they will pH test and then that will spur testing and then concrete sealing. Seems like a way to artificially hold down bid costs and seems unfair to owners to me.

RE: Tandus removes moisture testing requirement
Personally I like to see product manufacturers take on a bit more of the liability when it comes to moisture issues...even if it means producing a product (as in this case?) has higher tolerances.

As far as being fair to owners, all's fair in love and business, or so I have heard. Personally, I hate sticker-shock and try to be realistic and upfront with my customers on what costs to expect. Consequently, I lose out on a lot of work (especially in the commercial arena) to the low initial bidders or those that tend not to manage customer's expectations.

But that is the nature of the beast...I'm sure many have seen the old photo of the two boats? The dingy named "Original Contract" and the yacht named "Change Order". That pretty much says it all.
