I wonder if that shadowy, mysterious chap who goes deep cover under the name of "rapidrhrep" might weigh in on this:

I got the exchange reader today with a batch of new 4.0 EX probes.

So what's the diff? I note that the new reader still seems to read the old probes. I've had some "re-read" requests lately so this is a relief.

Also, what about the bluetooth datamaster reader- does it read the new probes?

Wow, I figured after hearing about your summer "down under", you would have melted away by now. The answer to your question revolves around technology and an upgrade to the readers "software". Nothing that anybody would ever notice with regards to performance of the product in the field. Regarding the Datamaster, it is forward and backwards compatible. Thanks for the comment and sorry for the delay.

Thanks Mr. Rep.

Re our summer- nothing we can't handle Big Grin I think your midwestern coldsnap would be a trickier thing!

Although I did send you a PM re some other issues, if you could follow up that would be grouse. (That's Oz-strayan for great)

We have the same weather here in southern Arizona. Not a problem here either. Cool

I was told that the old reader will read new EX probes as 99% but the new reader will read new and old probes fine.

The "old" reader will produce an "Er" reading on the EX sensors. The "new" reader will read both just fine.
