I have a job not to far off from starting that does not have HVAC on yet. I have put down some probes just to keep an eye on the %. At his time with the temp around 72 and the humidity around 54% the probes read between low70% and high 70%. I know that the HVAC has to be running for the test to pass ASTM, but at the Wagner RH webinar (starnet) they made it sound like you should be able to tell if the concrete is in a drying mode. With that being said what is your thoughts? Is the % they are at now a good sign or will they jump up when the HVAC goes on?
What is your thoughts?

The temperature of the slab is what?

If the slab is on grade, the temperature will stay around the upper 60's always. The readings you are getting will stay about the same.

Is this a new slab with a good vapor retarder placed in contact with the bottom of the slab? If so it sounds like you have a pretty darn nice slab there.

How old is that slab? Enclosed?

It has been my experience that HVAC affects CaCl more than rH.
