I think the economy is improving

RE: I think the economy is improving
We're expecting a housing bubble here soon.

My investment property in a mining town is now looking like less of a bad idea Blush But the inner city areas are now looking overpriced, and when that happens, building slows down.

It depends how bad things get in your neck of the woods, and with the Euro. But our tradies were definitely quiet in December.

So I guess you gotta focus on the work which pays, and steer clear of the high-hassle, low-margin stuff. It's tight but safe.

I stick with companies that I believe in, and that shoot straight. If I screw up, I admit it and move on. If a supplier or manufacturer makes a mistake, I expect them to own it. There are few companies out there like that. Ardex is one of them that I believe in.

Anyone can make products. Anyone can sell products. Anyone can install products. The test is when there are problems.

Not sure what was so funny about my post. Making cementacious products is not rocket science.

If Ardex's business model is to just sit tight, sell products and not do seminars around the country, then they must think their not losing business to the growing field of competitors. Thats fine with me.

With the LOCAL Elite Crete distributorship I have help right here in town that will come onsite if I have questions or need help.

Making cementitious products IS like rocket science! Talk to Tim Murphy at Mineralogy for about 30 minutes..... Or ask Wiss Janney Elstner about the science of cementitious underlayments and overlays.

Did you know that only two people know the recipe for K15? Do you know how many people have tried to copy K15 and Feather Finish over the last 20-30 years?

It's not rocket science, but it's as close as you can get. Big Grin

Yes I know a couple people who make a similar K15 and feather finish product and they are better. Oh, they used to work for Ardex.

Yer gonna have to find it yourself. The featherfinish coating has been around for years. Not to say I don't like Ardex but they, if it's cheaper and just as good......

Besides, I don't make it, I install it.

I have to tell you, I have worked with hundreds of installers all over the country, and I haven't found a single one that has ever said any product works as well as Feather Finish. It has a cult like following.

Sure everyone manufactures a feathering patch, but none compare to FF.

I'd like to hear which product you say is as good, because I'd like to check it out. But I admit I'm really skeptical that anything comes close.

Well, I certainly cannot vouch for your installers qualifications either.
