I will be conducting RH testing for a flooring contractor who has NEVER performed any type of moisture test in their 20+ years in business. Hard to believe, but it explains the flooring failures I have heard rumors of over the years. Certainly hope they will see the benefit when I'm done.
In this case, I have personally seen the results from their lack of following common sense installation practices...like adhesive under welded sheet goods that was as wet as the day it was applied 1 year after installation. The installer even used adhesive like it was Feather Finish as a "filler" in a 1/2" deep spall in the substrate!!!
I think/hope in this case, they're finally realizing shortcuts cost!
Well I'm glad to hear business is ticking over JK! If the "I've never moisture tested in 20,000 years" brigade are starting to see the light, then it's only a good thing.
I just picked up phase #1 of a huge hospital extension in Geelong, Vic. Things are looking up here too- not holding my breath- but it's promising.
Jason will tell you that the nature of the complaints and aversion to thorough testing here, is exactly what you guys have been hearing for years.

I have quite a few colleagues out here who just do not ever test. Their motto is "Seal it and forget it". That would include many box stores. lol
